The Perfect Storm ~ Confidence Creates Freedom
Without confidence, an athlete's freedom is masked by repetitive failure. An athlete that is properly influenced builds confidence through beliefs and preparation. This confidence empowers them and creates freedom. And with freedom, players can perform beyond levels of expectations (check out this video - the story of Adam). Freedom enables an athlete to perform without fear. IT enables an athlete to play “in-the-zone” and experience being in the moment.

The Perfect Storm ~ How a Natty Was Won
To win a National Championship a team (watch this video about the essence of TEAM) needs several things to happen. It starts with players who posses two fundamental qualities: great talent and great commitment. Then a dream needs to be transformed into a clear vision. Each and every player must buy into the vision and the plan that is created by the vision must be obtainable by the players and equivalent to their talent. Then you need a great amount of LUCK. This is just an overview, as there are many steps in between the start and the finish. In summary, it's very hard to win a National Championship and usually it's the perfect storm that delivers IT.

Happy Halloween

I am using this short blog post to take a quick break from building our Online Leadership Institute, and to say Happy Halloween to everyone. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. A Must Needed Change
In baseball, the automatic qualifier, in some conferences, is being awarded to schools with half the scholarships and half the commitment as many BCS qualifying programs. Is this right? Should this be? Arguments and debates over the equity between northern and southern programs will never stop. By the time June rolls around, northern programs are playing their best ball and their top 14 stacks evenly with southern teams. But the question arises – is the current format for the 64-team field right and just?

A New Season Starts in College Baseball
Today marks a new season for 64 college baseball programs around the country. Those 64 teams open regional play today on 16 campuses around the country (is Gary, IN a campus?). At this point, records and seedings mean absolutely nothing. And for eight teams, a dream will come alive in the form of a dog pile very soon.
